Paul Anthony is a well known local solicitor who has been practising for over 40 years in Kendal. He grew up in Grasmere, attended Kelsick Grammar school in Ambleside and has lived in the Lakes most of his life. Paul has many long standing clients and a loyal client base who return to him time and again for advice on a range of matters from conveyancing to wills and probate work. The firm hold a legal aid franchise in crime and Paul, a criminal lawyer in the firm, is also on the Duty Solicitor panel. In his spare time Paul enjoys climbing and walking in the Lake District and also in the highlands of Scotland where he has just recently renovated a holiday home. He also enjoys sailing off the Scottish west coast.

Stuart was admitted in 1977. He is a Kendalian by birth. Having spent a number of years as a partner in a Manchester city centre practice he could not resist the lure of the Lakes and returned to Kendal where he practised for many years as a Partner in Greenwood Kyle before joining TWP last year. Like Paul Anthony he has a loyal following of clients that use him for all their legal needs - the merger having further enhanced the range of services provided by him and his colleagues. Stuart has a passion for motor racing both as a spectator and competitor. On the quieter side he can often be seen at the local RSPB reserve.

Mark Crompton was brought up in Windermere before being trained as a solicitor in the City of London and then working as a partner in Messrs Bevan Ashford a major regional law firm in in Devon specialising in private client property work. He returned to the Lake District in 1991 to join Pattinson & Scott and is now a Consultant with the firm dealing with a wide range of personal private & commercial client work.His outside interests include golf and sailing and he is currently approximately half way through completing walking all the Lake District fells over 1,000 ft usually accompanied by his two Border Terriers.
Jonathan Hardiker

After 3 years living and working in the Solomon Islands Jonathan Hardiker settled in Kendal in the early 1990's for no better reason than he thought it the nicest part of the country in which to live. Apart from another spell working abroad as a solicitor and barrister, this time in St. Helena, he and his family have lived here ever since. Jonathan specialises in the resolution of disputes of all kinds and has a particular interest in land disputes, contractual disputes, employment law and personal injury claims. He also offers a debt collection service and representation in Court on motoring offences. Jonathan is married with two teenaged children and in his spare time enjoys fell walking, cycling and good quality beer which, bizarrely, he regards as infinitely more subtle and varied than wine. He retains an interest, borne out of his time abroad, in Overseas Development.

Kathryn Hughes

Kathryn Hughes grew up in Lancashire and studied law at Bristol University. After graduating she stayed in Bristol to complete her training at the large city firm Osborne Clarke. Kathryn Hughes is a member of STEP (The Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners). Kathryn then specialised in matrimonial law practising in Somerset, before giving in to the desire to return to "the north" and settling in Kendal. Once she had a family of her own she move into specialising in wills, probate and all aspects of work in relation to the elderly and practised in several firms in the south lakes area before joining Thomson Wilson Pattinson in 2002. In addition to having a busy family life she enjoys swimming, walking and is a member of a book club.

Anna Knowles

Anna Knowles grew up in Lancaster and has recently returned to the area, having lived and worked in a number of different locations both north and south and also including a period in Canada. After qualifying in Reading , Anna worked at international firm DLA Piper in Leeds , then subsequently moved to large commercial practice Lupton Fawcett, also in Leeds. Anna deals with all Landord and Tenant work (leases, licences, renewals, rent reviews, general property management work), freehold and leasehold sales and acquisitions, agreements for lease, option agreements, secured lending and asset sales and purchases for local businesses. Anna is married with three young children and made the move north and west so the family could enjoy the outdoors more. She enjoys fellwaking, skiing, family camping and sailing.

David Marsden

David Marsden qualified as a solicitor in 1974 and worked in the Lancaster, Garstang and Preston offices of Blackhurst Swainson Goodier until 2007 when he joined the firm. He has substantial experiend in the preparation of wills, inheritance tax planning, estate and trust administration and Court of Protection and Power of Attorney work. He has a particular interest in matters affecting the elderly being a member of the Solicitors for the Elderly. David is also a member of STEP (the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), the Law Society Probate unit and is on the Court of Protection panel of deputies. Outside the office he is a member of the Alzheimer's Society and enjoys fell walking and gardening.

Alison Moore

Alison Moore was born and brought up in the South East of England, but came to Kendal in 1992 to take up her first post as a solicitor specializing in matrimonial and family law. Alison deals with all aspects of family law, but has a particular interest in the resolution of financial disputes on divorce. She, like all her colleagues in the family department, is a member of Resolution, a nationwide group of like minded lawyers who promote a conciliatory and constructive approach to resolving family disputes, especially those involving children. Alison is herself married (her husband, Richard, is also a solicitor) and they have two children, who are both at school.
Sarah-Kay joined the firm in 2007 and lives locally. She was educated at St Annes School in Windermere before attending Newcastle University for a degree in Religious Studies and Northumbria University to complete post graduate law exams. She is a member of our Probate and Wills team and has completed additional STEP diplomas in administration of estates and administration of trusts.
She is a keen fell walker and runner and enjoys water sports.

Brian Whittaker

Brian Whittaker was born, and educated, in Windermere and proudly claims to be a "local". Brian Whittaker is a member of STEP (The Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners). After some time working in Research and Development at K Shoes in Kendal, he moved into the legal profession qualifying as a solicitor in 1986, having previously worked in the legal departments of both South Lakeland District Council and Lake District National Park Authority.Before merging with TWP in 2006,he ran his own practice in Kendal concentrating on Conveyancing and Probate,dealing with a full range of business from residential to commercial and agricultural,as well as complex leases and business sales and purchases. He has been part-time Clerk to Windermere Town Council since 1986, which involves him closely with the local community.He is a committed "petrol head", having been actively involved in organising motor sport events for over 30 years,sadly never having had the time to be able to compete.
